I'm a degreed fine artist and have always been serious about making art. I started out in the 80's doing freelance magazine/newspaper paste up and layout. I also designed woven labels. On the side, I did home portraits in suburban New Jersey! In the 90's I lived in Alberta, Canada and did intaglio printmaking and owned a press. I exhibited my art in multiple galleries throughout Canada and won many awards. I also had a line of personally made knitwear which I sold in boutiques until I moved down to the states in 1997. Soon after that, I quit printmaking and knitting (expensive and I got tired of toxic solvents/inks etc.) and by 2000, I started drawing in the style of pointillism. I wasn't much for galleries around then but made it into some big Texas festivals. I became of National Society of Artists in 2005. Just recently, I decided to publish some self illustrated books as well as coloring books. Since I have a prolific portfolio, I do well selling my images on-line as greeting cards. I enjoy illustrating more than anything else. Soon, I will go full circle as I approach retirement years. I have recently purchased an etching press and I plan to get back into printmaking! This time around printmaking will be safer and I'll focus on more eco-safe supplies such as solar plates. I may even teach printmaking when I'm retired!
